Jackaroo 4 players
Jackaroo 4 players is a team-based board game for four players. The goal is to destroy the other team’s plans to reach the safe zone while advancing your marbles.
Here are the key gameplay mechanics and rules of Jackaroo:
Teams
- Players seated across each other form a team.
- Each team has a set of playing cards (52 cards) and 16 marbles (four marbles per player), all of the same color.
Board sections
The game board consists of five main sections:
- Home sections (one for each player)
- Base holes (one for each player)
- Safety zones (4 for each player)
- Game path
- Card pile section
Cards and dealing
The dealer shuffles the cards and deals four cards to each player.
There are 3 types of cards: Yellow Masters, Red Actions, and Black Regular.
Card functions
- Ace (1): Move a marble from the home to the base, or move a marble inside the track either 1 step or 11 steps.
- 2: Move a marble 2 steps forward.
- 3: Move a marble 3 steps forward.
- 4: Move a marble 4 steps backward.
- 5: Move any marble (yours or your opponent’s) 5 steps forward.
- 6: Move a marble 6 steps forward.
- 7: Split the value into steps for two of your marbles.
- 8: Move a marble 8 steps forward.
- 9: Move a marble 9 steps forward.
- 10: Move a marble 10 steps forward.
- 11 (Exchange ⇅): Swap one of your marbles with another player’s marble (conditions apply — not marbles in home, base or safety zone).
- 12: Move a marble 12 steps forward.
- King (13): The most powerful card. Move a marble from home to base, or move 13 steps and capture every marble on the way (except marbles still in their homes).
Special rules
- If your marble stops on another marble, the other marble is sent back to its home section.
- Any marble on the player’s base cannot be bypassed, captured, or altered.
- You cannot skip yourself, in any case.
- If there are two marbles in a row, the front marble is considered a “base” — it cannot be bypassed, captured, or altered.
- To enter the safe zone, marbles must enter in order. Marbles cannot pass over each other inside the safe zone.
Winning
The first team to move all eight of their marbles to the safety zone is declared the winner.
